Sauteed Fresh Green Beans with Lemon

Sauteed Fresh Green Beans with Lemon are the best way to make green beans.  A healthy and easy recipe that has a little crisp from the green beans and a little zest from the lemon.

Sauteed Fresh Green Beans with Lemon

Zesty lemon mixed with the fresh crispiness of green beans makes for the best healthy side dish.  We’ve been able to find fresh greens year-round and this side dish is one that always goes over well when friends and family gather together.  As the majority of my recipes are – this one is also an easy and quick recipe! Let’s make Sauteed Fresh Green Beans with Lemon.

Sauteed Fresh Green Beans with Lemon

HOW TO MAKE IT:

To make Sautéed Fresh Green Beans with Lemon, begin with heating the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add the freshly washed and dried green beans. Toss the green beans in the avocado oil or stir with tongs to evenly coat the green beans.  Add the sprinkle of sea salt and freshly squeezed lemon. Cook the green beans for 8-10 minutes. Tossing or stirring with the tongs every 1-2 minutes so an not to burn them.  Once the green beans have turned bright green and are just beginning to soften, remove from the skillet and serve.

TRIM THE TIPS:

Most of the fresh green beans I buy already have the tips trimmed off (thank you Green Giant!).  If you’re sourcing your green beans from a Farmer’s Market or your own garden, be sure to pinch the ends of the green beans off before cooking them.

DIFFERENT OILS TO USE:

Most of the time I cook with avocado oil.  I find it’s a very versatile oil, high heat index, and virtually no taste.  Other oils you can use in this green bean recipe are:

Coconut Oil

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Pure Olive Oil

Sesame Oil
