Sweet and Spicy Iced Tea (Sugar-free)

A tall refreshing drink with no added sugar

What’s better than a tall glass of iced tea on a hot summer day?  Perhaps this sugar-free refreshing Sweet and Spicy Iced Tea!  It’s oh, so refreshing because there are no refined-sugars added, so you won’t have that heavy weighed down feeling after drinking it!  This iced tea is easily made and requires only 3-ingredients; Sweet and Spicy tea bags (I use Good Earth Sweet and Spicy Decaf tea bags), water, and lemon slices.  The sweet cinnamon notes from the tea and the fresh lemon slices add all the sweetness you need to this iced tea.

Such a simple recipe

This Whole30-friendly Iced Tea is a simple recipe to make.  I’m all for super simple recipes; few ingredients and little time needed.  Even though I love being in the kitchen, I like creating easy recipes because I know not everyone has oodles of extra time (with running 2 businesses and having a big family I don’t always have the extra time either!).  This iced tea takes about 15-20 minutes to create, but half of that time is boiling the water and letting the tea bags steep!  The hands-on part of this recipe is just pouring the tea over ice and cutting the lemon.  Sounds pretty easy, doesn’t it?

Fresh iced tea is minutes away

Add 8 cups of water to a tea kettle and bring to a boil.  While the water is boiling, cut the fresh lemon into quarter slices, set aside.  Once it’s reached a boil, remove it from the heat and add 6 sweet and spicy tea bags to the water.  Let steep for about 10 minutes.

In a large pitcher add 8 cups of ice cubes (or about 4 trays of ice cubes).  Remove the tea bags from the tea kettle and discard them.  Pour the tea into the pitcher over the ice cubes. Place the pitcher of tea in the fridge until the tea is cold OR fill a tall glass with ice and pour the tea over the ice right away.  Add a fresh lemon slice to each glass of iced tea as it’s served.
