Place the eight cups of water in a tea kettle and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat. Add the six sweet and spicy tea bags to the hot water and let steep for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags from the water.
In a large pitcher add the eight cups of ice cubes (or about 4 trays of ice cubes). Slowly pour the tea over the ice cubes.
Place the pitcher in the fridge until iced tea has become cold OR fill a tall glass with ice, pour the tea from the pitcher into the ice-filled glass and serve.
Add a lemon slice to each glass of iced tea if desired.
Keep iced tea in a covered container in the fridge for up to 10 days.
