Just 3 easy ingredients for this smoothie

You read that right!  Just 3 ingredients for this cold and refreshing smoothie.  There are so many smoothies out there that call for several ingredients…well, I’m simplifying things today.  A simple and kid-friendly smoothie is a timesaver and easy on the budget.  Just orange juice concentrate, frozen strawberries, and dairy-free milk of choice.  Yep, just 3 ingredients!

I’ve tried this smoothie out on so many kids

We are in the middle of July right now so that means we’ve pretty much been pool bums for two months straight now!  The kids and I will head to the pool as soon as they open and stay until 4:00 when Brandon comes home from work.  Instead of buying snacks at the pool (hello sugar junk!) I make a double batch of this Frozen Orange and Strawberry Smoothie and pack in up into little glass jars.  We pack them into a cooler, and at break time we head out and enjoy a refreshing (and healthy!) smoothie.  We pretty much always meet up with friends at the pool, so when snack time comes around, we invite them out for smoothies!  So this orange and strawberry smoothie has been tested by at least 14 kids by now!  And they’ve all given it a thumbs up!

What kind of milk should you use

With this recipe, you can use any milk that you normally use.  Here at our house, we like to use soy milk, either regular or vanilla.  I have made this smoothie with whole milk (cow milk) and a couple of the boys like it.  They all prefer soy milk!  But it will turn out great with almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk (not the canned kind), or any kind of milk you have on hand!

Making this healthy smoothie is easy

To make this easy and healthy smoothie, you’ll need a high-speed blender.  I love my Ninja blender, but there are several great ones to choose from.

In the blender cup add the orange juice concentrate, frozen strawberries, and dairy-free milk.  Place the lid on the blender and press the ‘smoothie’ button.  OR blend on high for 30 seconds.  Remove the blender cup from the base and pour the smoothie into cups.  Serve.
