Summer is in full swing and that means all the fun summer drink recipes are needed! This watermelon slushy is one refreshing drink that needs to be made right away. With just a few simple and healthy ingredients, you’ll have a Healthy Watermelon Slushy with Mint drink that hydrates you all afternoon long.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Watermelon
Mint leaves
Ice Cubes
Sparkling Water (I use Bubly Watermelon flavor)
HOW TO MAKE IT:
In a high-speed blender, add the ice, cubed watermelon, mint leaves, and one can of sparkling water. Place the lid on the blender securely and place the blender on the base. Blend on low for 20-30 seconds. Remove the blender cup from the base and pour the watermelon slushy into two glasses. Garnish with a fresh mint leaf in each cup if desired.
WHICH SPARKLING WATER TO USE:
If you’re new to drinking sparkling water…welcome! Sparkling water is one of my favorite drinks to enjoy. It’s simply sparkling water and natural flavors. A couple of my favorite brands which are Whole30 approved are LaCroix and Buble. There are a couple of off-brands of sparkling water that are simply carbonated water and natural flavoring, you’ll just have to read the ingredient list to be sure they don’t sneak forms of sugar into them.
For this recipe, I use Watermelon flavored Buble (not sponsored) because what goes better with fresh watermelon than watermelon flavored sparkling water!! But you can also use lime, lemon, strawberry, or whichever flavor you love (be creative and experiment!).
