If you have been following me here or on my Instagram account for awhile, you will have noticed that breakfast is pretty much our favorite meal of the day.  We all wake ready to eat, and need something that will be filling for the entire morning.  We turn to this Easy Breakfast Sausage recipe almost every week.  Some mornings I have enough time to make it from fresh, but most of the time I have a big batch of it waiting in the fridge from my weekend meal preps.  I’ll make this recipe x4…yes, I make THAT much of Breakfast Sausage for the week!  Everyone loves it and it goes perfectly with my Grain-free Pancake Bites.  With breakfast sausage and pancakes it’s like having Sunday morning breakfast during the week!

Seriously you guys, this is so easy to make!  I take a large skillet and heat it up, add the unseasoned ground sausage with the spices sprinkled on top.  Using a wooden turner stir in the spices by breaking up the sausage.  As it cooks, I keep turning it over and breaking up the large chunks.  It’s done in no time and we either serve it right away with breakfast or put it in the fridge for breakfasts later in the week.  It’s a great way to still be able to have breakfast sausage without all the preservatives and sugar that come in the pre-seasoned and pre-packaged sausages.  For so long I simply grabbed a few packages of pre-made breakfast sausage links or patties and served them.  It was during my first Whole30 that I started to really watch the ingredient list on all foods.  I was quite surprised (and really saddened) to find all the preservatives and even sugar that is added!  So making our own is a great way to still enjoy breakfast sausage, but a more clean version!

Want to know my secret weapon to making these Easy Breakfast Sausages?  Okay the picture above kind of gave it away, right?  Yes, it’s essential oils!  Before you keep scrolling and think I’m all crazy for using essential oils in my food, here’s why.  Essential oils are a great way to spice up your food, they’re all natural and 100% organic and one drop can go a looooong way!  Sure, it’s easy enough to grab some spices from the grocery store, but where did they come from?  Are they organic?  Is the organic price too expensive?  I prefer to use essential oils for most of my spices.  I know the company I buy from makes sure all their products are organic and come from sustainable farming (that goes for all of their plants, trees, flowers, herbs and more that they distill).  Plus, using the oils makes the Easy Breakfast Sausage kid-approved because when I use dried fennel and rosemary for this recipe, the kids can see them when I serve it (I know you have a picky eater too!) so using a couple drops of Fennel and one of Rosemary is PERFECT for hiding them, but still gives that amazing flavor!
