Easy BBQ Blueberry Meatballs (Sweet and Savory)

The best Game Day appetizers to serve are BBQ Blueberry Meatballs.  They’re easy to make and have great flavor from the classic bbq sauce with a hint of sweetness from the fresh blueberries.

BLUEBERRY MEATBALLS FOR GAME DAY

Are you a Game Day lover?  We have become such a football-loving family over the past couple of years (with having 4 boys, how could we not?!).  This year after having fun with our family fantasy football teams and printing off multiple brackets for a friendly competition, we are ready to have a huge Super Bowl party.  Filled with lots of appetizers like these Blueberry Meatballs, finger-foods, and the best Game Day snacks out there!

EASY AND DELICIOUS BLUEBERRY MEATBALLS

BBQ Blueberry Meatballs are definitely on the menu for this year’s game.  I love serving appetizers that are quick to make, easy to keep warm (hello slow cooker!), kid-friendly, and are healthy (of course!).  Meatballs are one of those appetizers that are filled with protein, will fill the kids (and friends) up, and suddenly become fun to eat when you serve them with a plain ole toothpick!  To make it even more fun, these Football themed toothpicks are so fun for the kids.

LET’S MAKE BAKED BLUEBERRY MEATBALLS

With only having 3 ingredients and a few spices, BBQ Blueberry Meatballs are super easy to put together.

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine the ground beef and spices. Mix it together and start rolling into golf ball size balls using your hands.  This batch will make 36 meatballs. You can always cut the recipe in half OR double it depending on how many friends you’re inviting over for your Game Day party!
  2. Place the rolled out meatballs in a 9×13 baking dish (you may need 2 depending on how close together you have the meatballs). Bake in the 350°F oven for 30-35 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through.

3) In a high-speed blender, blend together the bbq sauce and fresh blueberries.  Just a few quick pulses or blend on medium for 15-20 seconds and the blueberries will be chopped up enough.

4) Add the meatballs to the crockpot and pour the sauce on top. Stir to evenly coat the meatballs. Turn the crockpot on low and they’re ready to serve at the party!  They’ll stay warm for the entire football game, be easy to serve, and will become the hit of the party!

Oh by the way I love the videos and although I have not had much time to get on your app lately I am glad I have it. When I am in WA I have accessed it to use for my cooking there.
