About
My Story
Hello hello! Thank you for coming over and enjoying my recipes. Being in the kitchen creating new ways to make healthy meals is a passion of mine. I’ve gone from a poptart lover to a clean-eats girl. It began 5 years ago with my first Whole30. My eyes were opened to how our bodies respond to being nourished with whole foods. We need to fuel ourselves in the right way so we can enjoy our everyday life adventures feeling our best! I joke that I’m a Whole30-lifer! Doing a few rounds of Whole30 has really shaped how I view food and how I prepare it in the kitchen. Many of the meals I make are “accidentally” Whole30-compliant. It’s truly was a lifestyle change.
I’m a mom to four boys and a wife to Brandon…you’ll hear quite a bit about them throughout my posts! While I may be incredibly busy mothering the kids, taking care of the household chores, homeschooling 2 of the boys, and making sure everyone is fed wholesome meals…I felt there was one more thing I wanted to do. As I talk with friends and friends-of-friends and see posts on social media, I see so many moms constantly say they’re “so busy” and they “just don’t have time to make healthy meals”. One of my goals is to show busy moms (whether they’re work-outside-the-home-moms, stay-at-home-moms, or homeschooling-moms) they CAN make healthy and nourishing meals that don’t take hours in the kitchen!
Have you ever highlighted each “holiday” on the calendar that is centered around unhealthy sugary food? Yep, I sure have!! Almost every.single.month has some holiday that is celebrated with candy. Christmas = cookies, Fourth of July = parade candy, Halloween = oodles of candy, Easter, Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, May Day…you name it and there’s candy/pies/cookies laden refined sugar or corn syrup. Now, I’m a sweet girl (well, I hope so anyway 😉 I love eating sweets! Just take a look at the recipe section…love baking goodies! But we can be healthy even with our baking! I have a goal of showing everyone just how easy it can be to steer away from the conventional sweet-sugary-candy “holidays”. Yes, for our own bodies sake, but especially for our kids’! As fun as it may be to spoil them or give in to sweets…their little bodies don’t need sugar that’s altering their gut flora! Let’s explore different options for our little ones.
My passion is to show busy moms (and dads!!) how easy making healthy, clean-eating food CAN be! Are you ready to join me?
