Ingredients
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup ketchup (read label for Whole30 & Paleo-friendly)
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
  1. Turn the Instant Pot to ‘Saute’ mode. Manually adjust time to 10 minutes.

  2. Add the ground beef and shredded carrots to the Instant Pot.  Using a wooden or plastic spatula, break the meat up into small pieces as the beef browns.

  3. As soon as the beef is fully cooked, add the spices, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar.  Stir together and let cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. The sloppy joe’s are cooked and ready to serve.  It’s really that simple!

Recipe Notes

If using 90/10 ground beef there will be minimum fat.  If using a higher percentage of fat ground beef, strain the beef right after browning to remove as much excess fat as you can. 

 

Store leftovers in a covered glass container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
