Paleo Turmeric Chicken Soup
Paleo Turmeric Chicken Soup is a warm flavorful soup that’s full of immunity-boosting bone broth, rosemary, and turmeric. With cold season upon us, add this soup to your menu and help the whole family stay healthy.
Sometimes I dread the fall and winter…yes, the changing of seasons is always great as the leaves change and snow arrives. But with the changing of seasons, it starts to get so cold (I’m not sure why I stay in Minnesota!) and then the colds are sure to follow. Getting sick is no fun…especially when there are six people in the house to have the sickness slowly trickle down to. Coughs, runny noses, low energy, fevers, it all adds up and just isn’t what I want my family to deal with. Lowered immune systems from lack of sleep, low-nutrient foods, not as much fresh air, and a host of other things is what I always chalk getting sick to. I’m a big fan of making as many nutrient-dense, immune-boosting meals as I can for the family.
Paleo Turmeric Chicken Soup has bone broth, turmeric, herbs, chicken and veggies. The added turmeric adds an amazing flavor. The warm and spicy flavors of Further Food Daily Turmeric Tonic makes for an amazing bowl of chicken soup. The herbs in the Daily Turmeric Tonic are:
Turmeric
Schisandra Berry
Boswellia
Ginger
Cardamom
Cinnamon
Cloves
Black Pepper
This combination is proven to be anti-inflammatory, gives a hefty dose of antioxidants, has antimicrobial properties and even helps aid in better digestion. I am certainly happy to add a couple scoops of this powder to enhance not only the flavor of the soup, but for the healing properties as well.
I also add a big sprig of fresh rosemary, I toss the entire sprig into the pot while it’s simmering and the soup takes on a rosemary flavor as well. My friend Angie, the sweetest friend I could ever ask for and amazingly happens to live directly across the street so we get to see each other almost daily, has a magnificent plant of fresh rosemary and she keeps me supplied. Rosemary has amazing benefits just like turmeric. It’s a gut-healthy, immune-boosting herb that I like to use fresh and in essential oil form. So if you don’t have fresh rosemary for the Paleo Turmeric Chicken Soup, grab your essential oils and add 3-4 drops of rosemary.
You know when you have a cold and you don’t really feel like eating, make sure to give this one a try. It’s easy to make and it really will help your immune system fight off anything you have going on. A few weeks ago we had some colds sweep through our house. We were on the mend, but accidentally passed the cold on to a friend. Now I love sharing…most everything! Just not germs. Oh, I felt so bad that we passed on a cold. So of course we had to share this Paleo Turmeric Chicken Soup to help build their immune system back up and let them rest and not have to make dinner that night. It was given a thumbs up, so I’m hoping you’ll love it too!
