Paleo Sweet Potato Burger Sliders
Paleo Sweet Potato Burger Sliders seasoned with ‘Everything But The Bagel’ seasoning is an easy and mouth-watering way to enjoy a summer burger that’s Paleo and Whole30-friendly.
Ditch the gluten burger bun and learn how to make a mouthwatering Paleo Sweet Potato Bun. To be honest, I thought a sweet potato bun would be a lot more difficult and time-consuming than it really is! Tossing the sweet potato buns into the oven at the same time as when I start the burgers, is easy and always times perfectly. The buns take 15-18 minutes to bake; the same amount of time that it takes to cook the burgers!
Let’s talk about the ‘Everything But The Bagel’ seasoning. Added to these Paleo Sweet Potato Buns is OMG-GOOD! The dried onion, garlic, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and salt are a fantastic mix that could be added to almost every dish you make! The perfect amount to salty with that onion and garlic blend makes these buns to-die-for!
HOW TO MAKE PALEO SWEET POTATO BURGER SLIDERS:
Preheat the oven to 350°F degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Cut off the ends of the sweet potato and slice the middle part of the sweet potatoes ½” thick. Each sweet potato should give 4 ½” slices.
Rub each slice, front and back, with avocado oil. A very small amount for each slice. Place them on the parchment-covered baking sheet keeping space between each sweet potato round. Sprinkle with Everything But The seasoning. Flip the sweet potatoes over and sprinkle again.
Place the prepared sweet potatoes in the oven and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, turn each sweet potato over, bake for an additional 5-7 minutes or until sweet potatoes are just beginning to soften.
Press the ground beef into 4” round patties about ⅓” thick. Sprinkle with sea salt and ground pepper. Cook in a skillet over medium heat or on the grill. Cook for 6 minutes, flip and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until the pattie is cooked all the way through.
Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and the beef patties from the skillet (or grill) and build your Paleo Sweet Potato Burger Sliders.
TIPS:
Reduce food waste and save the ends and “too-small” pieces of sweet potato for use in other dishes. They work great in Sweet Potato Pork Skillet, Chipotle Salmon and Sweet Potato Bowl, Whole30 Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Chili, or Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie Skillet.
Keep the oil light! Adding too much oil to each sweet potato round isn’t ideal for baking. Stick to a light layer of avocado oil and you’ll be good to go!
